Een bekend gezicht in het dagelijks straatbeeld, of eerder gezegd nachtelijk straatbeeld. De straatlantaarn van Friso Kramer schijnt door menig gordijn s’nachts. Nu is het zelfs mogelijk om deze strakke lamp de woonkamer in te halen! De lantaarnkoppen zijn gerestaureerd en voorzien van een systeem waardoor ze op te hangen zijn als plafondlamp. De straatlantaarn is in 1960 door Friso Kramer ontworpen in opdracht van de gemeenten Den Haag. Friso Kramer: ‘gewoon een rustige, functionele lantaarnpaal, die het overal moet kunnen uithouden en haar omgeving niet mag bijten.’ Na het succes in Den Haag kregen steeds meer gemeentes interesse in de lantaarn van Friso Kramer. En vandaag de dag zijn ze nog steeds te zien in vele wijken. Wie weet straalt er wel een bij u in de straat. De lampen zijn per stuk te koop, maar ook in grotere hoeveelheden.
