Art Deco center table by Jules Leleu, France in the 1930s. Mahogany inlays. 4 floral golden details. 4 brass feet, sabots restored. High-gloss varnish, hand-polished. Jules Leleu was a French furniture designer who was known to soften the modern with classic lines. He is still known for designs with simplified forms, exotic woods, marquetry and ivory inlays. He was born on June 17, 1883 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France, a suburb of Paris. Jules Leleu joined in 1924 into the business and thus sowed the seeds of a dynasty, because of their unique combination of genius, productivity and performance unparalleled longevity. With his great success on the exposure has occurred International des Arts Decoratifs in 1925, at the height of the Art Deco period, he established an aesthetic that was so modern, smooth and well balanced as anyone who worked at that time.
