This chair is made from three kinds … Read more This Bauhaus-style armchair was designed by Erich Dieckmann in Germany during the 1930s. This chair is made from three kinds of materials: rattan, bamboo and metal. The using of high-quality hardwood and cane mat softened the rough geometry of the design. This piece has been preserved in original condition and has not been restored. It has minor cracks and traces of age, e.g. rust on metal parts.
Dieckmann's most important work is standard, simple, wooden furniture. The structure of the seat is strictly geometric, with a frame made of wood, square, arranged at right angles. Another typical feature of Erich Dieckmann's furniture is the combination of armrests and chair legs into a single structure.
