Hay Cutters by Eric Hesketh Hubbard 1892-1957 Wood Cut Good vintage condition with only very minor signs of age Eric Hesketh Hubbard was a landscape and architectural painter, etcher and printmaker. He exhibited widely, published over a dozen art books, and was President of the Royal Society of British Artists, and a member of many significant painting and printmaking societies. He founded ‘The Print Society,’ an international society of printmakers and collectors, and set up ‘Forest Press’ in a dilapidated shed at his house on the Common there. One of his main aims was to make art accessible to ordinary people. He lectured upon and wrote about printmaking techniques. He spent some of the 1920s living near the New Forest where he encountered gypsy life - a subject which occupied many of his etchings, aquatints and woodcuts. The Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, a life drawing society on The Mall in London, was founded in his name in 1930. This piece has an attribution mark,

Cancellations

- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
