Trained at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués, Denise Margoni carried out two parallel activities throughout her life: decoration and painting.
These two activities were intimately intertwined, influenced and responded to throughout her career. Although she devoted herself mainly to decoration until 1939, in particular by creating wallpaper and fabric designs, especially for the "silk manufacturers" of Lyon, her pictorial activities did not take long to earn her recognition from the great couturiers.
Indeed, she invented a technique of painting on silk by direct application on a waxed canvas without "crimping" which gives more freedom and allows to free oneself from the stiffness of the traditional drawing.
Her admiration for the paintings of Estève de Hayden and Beaudin led her to develop her style to the point of abstraction. In 1953, she was encouraged by Fernand Léger and in 1960 by Balthus who found her painting "very sensitive and personal"\. From 1955 to 1980, she stayed every summer at the Abbaye de Beauport in Paimpol. The light and the seascapes she saw from her windows inspired her to such an extent that her style was renewed. Denise Margoni exhibited in Paris, La Rochelle, Paimpol and Saint-Cloud.
She won two medals at the Montrouge and Châlons-en-Champagne exhibitions. She also participated in several group exhibitions at the Taménaga Gallery in Paris and in Japan. She was also represented by the Kriegel gallery in Paris. Denise Margoni painted until 1986. She died in Paris in 1987. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.

- Chairish Freight Delivery
