A captivating Scandinavian-designed wall sconce that perfectly captures the virility and essence of the Brutalist movement of the 1960s. Evoking the unmistakable style of the designer Hans Ehrich, this sunburst-shaped luminaire stands as a true wall sculpture, combining a striking architectural force with astonishing material richness.
The main structure stands out for its powerful visual presence, formed by a crown of thick, irregular metal rays radiating from the geometric center. The deeply textured, dark finish of the forged metal lends a raw, rustic, and authentic character, creating a dramatic interplay of volumes and shadows. At the heart of this bold structure rests a magnificent, thick, circular piece of cast glass. This central element is a work of art in itself, featuring a rich, three-dimensional surface with deep, encapsulated bubbles and captivating amber and earth tones organically intertwined.
When illuminated, the light fixture takes on a new, vibrant dimension. Light filters through the thick, textured glass, creating a warm glow that contrasts masterfully with the coolness and hardness of the metal frame. The bubbles and irregularities of the glass act as natural prisms, projecting golden and amber sparkles that lend any room an intimate, mysterious, and supremely welcoming atmosphere. In very good condition with minor signs of use consistent with its age.
A collector's piece with an imposing personality, perfect for becoming the undisputed centerpiece of any space. Ideal for lovers of vintage design and 1960s art who seek to add a sculptural, bold, and avant-garde touch to contemporary or eclectic interiors.
