The weaving centers of Western Anatolia, particularly Oushak, have helped shape the language of fine interior carpets since the fifteenth century. Highly prized across Renaissance Europe and immortalized in the paintings of masters like Lorenzo Lotto and Hans Holbein, antique Oushak carpets were celebrated for moving away from rigid Persian court geometry in favor of a freer, more painterly botanical vocabulary. This contemporary work draws directly from that classical Ottoman lineage, adopting the dense, continuous floral networks of 16th and 17th century palace tapestries while reimagining them through an artful distressed weave. By pairing hand-spun wool with luminous natural silk, the artisans have captured the authentic character and sun-bleached patina of a centuries-old heirloom. Seasoned collectors will recognize the historical fidelity of the motifs alongside the deliberate patination, which softens the visual weight of the court patterns so they integrate naturally into a modern architectural home.

The entire ground is covered in a dense, continuous diaper lattice of stylized blossom heads, serrated saz leaves, and interlocking vine tendrils running without interruption across the field.
