This vintage poker mini pendant lamp was designed by renowned danish designer jo hammerborg for fog & mørup and is a beautiful example of scandinavian lighting design from the second half of the 20th century.
the poker was produced in different sizes, with the compact mini measuring just 20 cm in diameter. Its distinctive two-tier cylindrical silhouette combines simple geometry with softly rounded edges, creating a sculptural form that feels both playful and remarkably contemporary.
finished in a vivid blue with a contrasting white interior, the lamp provides focused downward illumination while the white inner surface helps reflect the light. A ring of small ventilation openings positioned around the top adds a characteristic functional detail to the otherwise minimal construction.
the poker mini demonstrates hammerborg’s ability to transform simple industrial materials into refined lighting objects. Its compact proportions make it particularly suitable above a bedside table, kitchen counter or small dining area, while several poker pendants can also be arranged together as a group.
jo hammerborg was head of design at fog & mørup from 1957 until 1980 and played an important role in establishing the company’s distinctive modernist identity. His lighting designs are now widely collected as classics of danish modernism.
