The lamp is constructed from a carefully arranged series of metal shades in deep red and vivid yellow. Its broad main reflector creates the distinctive horizontal silhouette, while smaller concentric elements above and below the shade add depth and give the lamp an almost architectural appearance.

The layered construction is not purely decorative. The bulb is largely concealed within the system of reflectors, allowing the light to bounce between the different surfaces rather than shining directly into the room. When illuminated, warm light appears through the openings between the shades and beneath the yellow lower reflector, while a softer glow is projected upward. The result is atmospheric and pleasantly diffused illumination with considerably less glare than a conventional open pendant.

The combination of burgundy-red and bright yellow gives the lamp a particularly expressive 1970s character, sitting somewhere between Scandinavian Modernism, Space Age design and the more colourful Pop-influenced interiors of the period. Despite its strong colours, the low, wide profile gives it an elegant architectural presence.

The metal shades have been professionally restored and repainted, preserving the original design while giving the lamp a clean and uniform finish. Minor traces consistent with the age and construction of the piece may remain.
