A striking pair of circular oil on canvas still life paintings depicting flourishing citrus trees laden with lemons (Citri) and oranges (Aurea), each identified by elegant Latin inscriptions. Executed in Italy during the 20th century, these beautifully composed works celebrate the rich tradition of Mediterranean botanical painting.

Rendered with exceptional attention to detail, the vibrant fruit, glossy green foliage, and delicate white blossoms are depicted with remarkable realism against a dark background, creating a dramatic contrast that enhances the luminosity of the composition. The circular format lends the paintings a distinctive decorative quality while recalling the classical taste for ornamental fruit studies found in historic Italian villas and palazzi.

The refined brushwork and harmonious composition make the pair equally appealing as works of art and sophisticated decorative objects. Whether displayed together as intended or incorporated into a collection of botanical or still life paintings, they bring warmth, elegance, and a distinctly Mediterranean character to any interior.

A highly decorative pair of Italian still lifes, combining timeless botanical beauty with excellent craftsmanship.
