A rectangular dining table designed by architect giovanni michelucci for his arcigliano series and produced in italy in 1974. This impressive walnut table with solid walnut legs is in its original condition. There are only a few light scratches on the top, but nothing too disturbing, showcasing a beautiful wood grain. This table, featuring unique, organically shaped legs, was produced—just like the entire arcigliano series—in collaboration with falegnameria fantacci (sergio and marcello fantacci’s carpentry shop) located in agliana, italy. This series is a testament to michelucci’s style, characterized by elegant lines, organic shapes, and an eye for the natural quality of the materials. The table is in very good condition and features michelucci’s branded signature with the year ‘74’ imprinted on the side.

giovanni michelucci (1891–1990) was one of the most influential italian architects and designers of the 20th century. Born into a family of artisans in tuscany, his work always remained deeply rooted in traditional craftsmanship and an appreciation for raw, honest materials.while celebrated globally for his architectural masterpieces—such as the iconic florence santa maria novella train station—michelucci approached furniture design as architecture on a smaller scale. Rather than designing for mass industrial production, he created sculptural, expressive pieces meant to define and transform interior spaces.his furniture is characterized by the use of heavy, high-quality woods, celebrated for their natural grain and combined with striking, organic lines. To bring his visions to life, michelucci collaborated exclusively with the finest tuscan workshops. His legendary mid-century designs for poltronova in the 1960s were followed in the 1970s by the arcigliano series, created in partnership with the master carpenters of falegnameria fantacci. Because these pieces were produced in limited quantities with an extraordinary eye for detail, michelucci’s furniture remains highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
