A striking set of five modernist dining chairs from the netherlands, dating from the 1970s. The design is defined by a strong graphic language, combining bold proportions with a restrained and highly geometric construction.
broad black lacquered wooden slats form both the seat and backrest, creating a rhythmic composition of solid surfaces and narrow open spaces. The angular legs and subtly inclined back give the chairs a distinctive architectural silhouette, while the monochrome black finish further emphasises their sculptural character.
presented as a set of five, the chairs create a particularly strong visual presence around a dining table and are a distinctive example of dutch modernist furniture from the period.
condition
good vintage condition with normal signs of wear consistent with age and use.
