The origin of this cake stand traces back to mid-20th century America, representing a collaboration between two different types of manufacturers popular in the 1940s and 1950s United States.
• The Silver Maker: The pedestal base was manufactured by Maurice Duchin Creations, a prominent American silver and holloware company based out of New York City. Founded around 1944, the firm specialized in creating giftware, candle holders, and weighted sterling silver accessories.
• The Glass Maker: Duchin Creations did not manufacture glass themselves. Instead, they purchased pressed glass platters directly from major mid-century American glass companies (such as Jeannette Glass or Federal Glass) and permanently mounted or screwed them onto their signature weighted bases See less
