Crafted from heavy metal with a rich, dark patina and subtle reddish-brown accents, the lions are meticulously carved with high-relief details, including curly manes, bulging eyes, and decorative collars with bells. Traditionally, the male lion rests his paw on a sphere representing the world, while the female (not fully visible but implied by the pair) would typically have a cub. These heavy, sculptural pieces serve beautifully as decorative objects for a scholar's desk, a bookshelf, or as bookends, bringing a touch of traditional Asian culture and history to any interior.
