An exceptional, rare matching pair of late 19th-century French hard-paste porcelain pedestal comports (tazzas) by the luxury Parisian atelier Maison Mansard (34 Rue de Paradis, Paris).
Exhibiting masterful historic craftsmanship, each pedestal bowl features a rich, deep Sèvres-style cobalt blue rim and flared base, heavily embellished with intricate, encrusted gold scrolling foliate accents. The bright white porcelain centers and lower bases are beautifully personalized with an elegant, interwoven gilded script monogram.
Condition Note & Wear Report:
Please review all photos carefully as this pair exhibits asymmetric antique wear, priced accordingly. Both pieces are structurally pristine with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs. However, one compote shows significantly more wear to its gilded accents than its counterpart. Specifically, the central gilded monogram inside the bowl is heavily faded from historical serving friction. The gold bands along the scalloped edges show generalized rubbing and thinning consistent with its late-1800s age.
