The Dala horse originated in the 1500s as a child’s toy and have gained popularity through the years and have now become a national symbol of Sweden. Based on the hand- carved characteristics and natural paint wear, and examples documented from Swedish vendors, this horse likely dates to the 1930s-early 1950s, but I suspect is even older.
