Found in France, this gold leaf Louis Philippe mirror dates from the 1860s. This mirror features the classic Louis Philippe arched frame with gesso flowers and leaves sculpted in relief at the four corners. The frame also has subtle etched leafy vines on the sides and a beaded inner edge. We do not believe the mirror glass is original, but it is old and shows some age-related loss of silvering. Unknown maker.
We have two mirrors in this size and style available at the time of this posting which are sold and listed separately. Please inquire if you are interested in both mirrors
(JFA 12708).
Very good overall antique condition with some scattered minor loss of silvering to mirror and some small areas of loss to gesso flower stems - hard to see and doesn’t affect presentation.
