Presenting a striking and elegantly formed vintage porcelain teapot, featuring a classic, rounded body with a curved spout and a smooth looping handle.
The exterior is vibrantly decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The entire body is covered in a dense, deep blue "cracked ice" pattern, with white outlines forming stylized plum blossoms (Bingmei) and bamboo leaves. The lid matches the body's pattern perfectly and is topped with a delicate blue and white teardrop finial. The interior of the pot and the base rim are glazed in a pale celadon.
Provenance: The flat base is glazed white and features a handwritten blue inscription in Chinese characters. It reads "建國瓷廠 一九六二年", which translates to "Jianguo Porcelain Factory, 1962." This provides excellent and exact provenance, confirming the piece was produced in a specific state-owned factory in the mid-20th century.
This is a beautiful, vibrant piece for tea lovers and collectors of mid-century Chinese export porcelain.
