Vintage 2-piece Japanese porcelain coffee service believed to date from approximately the 1950s. Features a lidded coffee pot and matching creamer. Decorated with delicate pink and lavender cherry blossoms, reddish-brown foliage, and intricate gold detailing.
The floral decoration features gold-outlined petals, gilt centers, and gracefully branching stems against a glossy white porcelain background. Generous gold accents highlight the curved spout, handle, lid, and rims.
Both pieces bear matching marks on their undersides: a diamond-shaped C.P.O. mark, associated with the Central Purchasing Office and Japanese porcelain distributed through American military facilities during the postwar period, and a distinctive black-and-gold Japanese-style signature.
Coffee pot height: 7 inches, including lid
Creamer height: 3 1/8 inches

Random paint dot seen on back of creamer; appears to be from original hand painting. Some wear on bottom rims. The floral decoration and remaining gilding are well preserved. less
