Vintage 1970s Selig of Monroe "Playpen" six-piece modular sectional sofa with a low-profile, boxy silhouette, deep tufted seating, and plush velvet upholstery.
One of the best features of this sofa is its versatility. All six sections are separate and can be arranged in a variety of ways depending on the layout of your room. It can be configured as a large U-shaped sectional, an L-shaped sofa, or separated into individual seating pieces.
The sofa retains its original vintage character and is in overall good condition for its age, with noticeable sun fading and wear to the upholstery. The velvet has faded unevenly in areas, particularly along the backs, sides, and cushions. While still a great-looking piece as it sits, this would also be an excellent candidate for reupholstering. Simply recovering it in a fresh fabric would give it a chance to return to its former beauty while preserving the classic Selig design.
