Its sculptural hammered metal frame and large white opal globe bulb combine atmospheric lighting with timeless mid-century style.

The piece

This striking vintage light celebrates one of the most enduring decorative motifs of the mid-twentieth century: the sunburst.

Radiating wavy metal rays surround a richly textured hammered centre, finished in a softly aged champagne-toned metal that gives the piece warmth without excessive shine. At its heart, a large white opal globe bulb diffuses the light beautifully while preserving the clean sculptural lines of the design.

Among the hammered details, the metalwork subtly recalls the traditional sun-with-a-face motif found in European decorative arts. The softly modelled forms gently suggest facial features without becoming overtly figurative, revealing an unexpected sense of expression the longer the piece is observed.

Suitable for installation on either a ceiling or a wall, it functions equally well as a light fitting and as a sculptural decorative object.

Where it works best

Ideal as a statement light in a living room, entrance hall, dining room, bedroom or covered outdoor space.

Its sculptural silhouette complements Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Mediterranean and eclectic interiors, where it serves equally as lighting and architectural decoration.
