The combination of Pop Art, functionality, flexibility, and modular construction is groundbreaking. Zapf's use of experimental materials placed him at the forefront of the 1960s avant-garde. His long-standing collaborations with Dieter Rams and Niels Wiese Vitsoe are particularly noteworthy. Zapf designed for companies including Knoll, Cor, Lufthansa, De Sede, and B&B Italia. In 2020, a retrospective of his work was curated in Eschborn near Frankfurt. The 'Softline' series is part of the permanent collection of the Neue Pinakothek in Munich.

The wall cabinet is delivered assembled but can be disassembled and combined with other pieces from this series. Our shelving unit consists of three brown shelves, one of which serves as the top support and is mounted to the wall using two angle brackets (included), and four brown side panels to which the lower shelves are attached with snap fasteners. Despite the flexible assembly with snap fasteners and the flexible components, the system is well-constructed and very stable.

The shelving unit can also be reinforced from the back with two dark brown panels/cover plates (allowing it to be used as an open shelf), or the panels can be snapped onto the front to close the unit, creating a closed front. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
