This elegant set of four dining chairs was designed by renowned Danish designer Hans Olsen in the 1960s and manufactured by Bramin Møbler. The chairs are a beautiful example of Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design, combining sculptural elegance, refined proportions, and exceptional Danish craftsmanship. The chairs are distinguished by their beautifully shaped, wide backrests with gracefully curved edges extending into gently raised, wing-like armrests. This distinctive, almost sculptural construction gives the chairs a particularly elegant and expressive appearance while maintaining the lightness and functionality characteristic of Danish modern design. The frames are crafted from solid beech, while the curved backrests are finished in teak veneer. The warm tones of the two woods complement one another, highlighting the sophisticated construction and carefully considered details of the original design. Slender, tapered legs further emphasize the chairs' elegant proportions. All four chairs have undergone a complete professional restoration, carefully preserving their original character. The wooden structures have been thoroughly refinished and treated with high-quality wood oil, enhancing the natural grain and warmth of the beech and teak while providing a beautiful, smooth, and natural finish. The seats and upholstered backrests have been newly covered in Sisu fabric by Kvadrat, the renowned Danish textile manufacturer. This exceptional wool fabric, composed of 91% Norwegian wool, 8% New Zealand wool, and 1% nylon, features a beautiful, subtly textured weave in black and warm brown tones. Its sophisticated color and texture perfectly complement the natural wood, creating a harmonious and timeless combination. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
