Crafted in Italy during the mid-20th century by the renowned Palladio (Intercontinental Art Company), this striking piece features a tall, arched profile beautifully styled after traditional 18th-century "Dummy Board" silent companions.

The illustration is a stunning nod to the surrealist Renaissance painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, depicting a lady chef whose attire is entirely assembled from culinary items. Her dress tiers feature stacked rows of pottery bowls, fresh farm eggs, woven bread baskets, teapots, and strings of garlic. Her bodice is framed by silverware spoons and a rolling pin, her tray overflows with a cooked lobster and roasts, and her extravagant hat is topped by a tiered frosted cake! Surrounded by a carved, gilded wood-and-gesso scrollwork crown and a faux-shelf base labeled "The Cook", this is an absolute must-have for collectors of eclectic European art.
