This exquisite vintage statue features a finely detailed depiction of Akasagarbha Bodhisattva (Kokuzo Bosatsu), a revered figure in Buddhist tradition associated with boundless wisdom and space. Crafted from solid copper and finished with a radiant gold plating, the figure is seated in a meditative lotus posture upon an intricately carved double lotus base.
The Bodhisattva is depicted with a serene, downcast expression, wearing an elaborate crown and flowing, deeply folded robes adorned with beaded jewelry. In the raised right hand is a flaming sword, symbolizing the cutting of ignorance, while the left hand rests gently on the lap holding a wish-granting jewel. The statue showcases exceptional craftsmanship with intricate detailing throughout. A substantial, heavy piece that would make a meaningful addition to a collection of Asian antiques or a tranquil meditation space.
