Five chairs total, offered as a core set of four Model 401 dining chairs in solid teak — designed by Jørgen Henrik Møller for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, Denmark, 1960s — with the matching fifth chair included as an unrestored project.
A rare find stateside: the Model 401 is seldom offered in the US — most current listings are European dealers, with transatlantic freight around $1,000 and delivery measured in months. This set is already here, in Massachusetts, and ships domestically.
These chairs retain their ORIGINAL hand-woven Danish papercord seats — most sets on the market have been rewoven — and the undersides carry both the branded "J.L. Møller Models / Made in Denmark" stamp and the Danish Furnituremakers quality-control mark (photographed).
The four chairs in the core set have tight frames and warm, even teak. One has an essentially perfect original cord seat; the other three show fraying and splitting where the cord folds over the front rail, while their woven seat fields remain tight and intact. Close-up photos of every chair's front fold are included in this listing. The matching fifth chair is the structural project: in addition to cord wear, it has a longitudinal split in one front post. It is photographed and included unrestored as a project, and is not counted as a fifth full-value chair in the price.
Dimensions W 19.5 in × D 17.5 in × H 30.75 in; seat height 18.5 in.
All five chairs are sold together only; the project chair is not available separately. Ships within the continental US via Chairish delivery — days, not the months-long transatlantic wait the European sets carry. Local pickup in western Massachusetts also welcome.
