Meticulously chiseled from a solid piece of dense, premium hardwood, this striking piece features an expansive, wing-like horizontal crossbar. The dark brown timber body is defined by its deep, uniform hand-gouged notches and heavy hand-scraped textures, giving it a powerful, sculptural silhouette that commands attention in any interior setting.
Designed for functional elegance, the upper bar is artfully carved with eight distinct U-shaped candle slots crafted to securely hold standard taper candles or traditional ritual candles. The sweeping horizontal form is balanced by a robust, flared rectangular pedestal base that mirrors the chiseled, artisanal texture seen throughout the upper architecture. This unique design references classic European multi-light candle stands while embracing a distinctively modernist, organic aesthetic.
The remarkable texture showcases the hallmark characteristics of mid-century Brutalist sculpture and Nordic craftsmanship, prioritizing raw material presence, visible tool marks, and earthy geometric symmetry. Its rich, dark espresso patina highlights the natural variation of the wood grain, creating a beautiful interplay of light and shadow when illuminated. This tactile finish allows it to seamlessly anchor a variety of design languages, from rugged cabin decor to high-end modernist spaces.
An ideal statement piece for a mid-century modern dining room table centerpiece, a rustic fireplace mantel, or a contemporary entryway console. See less
