An impressive pair of Italian ceramic obelisk sculptures by Alvino Bagni, dating to the 1970s. Each features a sharply tapered pyramidal form resting on a rectangular plinth base, finished in a striking black, navy, blue, white, and gray faux-marble glaze that closely resembles richly veined natural stone. The substantial proportions, bold geometric silhouettes, and dramatic marbled surfaces give the pair a distinctly architectural presence. The intricate veining varies across each surface, creating a striking contrast between the organic patterns of the glaze and the precise sculptural forms. Particularly effective displayed together on a large console, credenza, or mantel, they are an unusual example of Italian modernist decorative art. Each is signed "A. BAGNI" to underside.
