Based in Italy, Richard Sapper is world famous, having studied philosophy, anatomy, engineering, graphic design and economics. He has received several awards including ten Compasso d'Oro awards, the Lucky Strike Award from the Raymond Loewy Foundation (1992) and the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2012). His main interest is in the design of technically complex objects, from boats to watches, Sapper continues to create many design classics, such as the Sapper Office Chair series for Knoll in 1979.
This furniture, known for its timeless design, is covered in black stitched leather on the back and seat.
The armrests are made of black grained plastic.
The whole ensemble is supported by a five-pointed star base, which is itself supported by large round black metal glides. This swivel foot allows several adjustments thanks to the presence of a lever on each side: one on the left allowing the adjustment of the height of the seat and a second one, on the right, allowing to adapt the degree of inclination of the seat. These levers are in perfect working order.
Ergonomic, aesthetic and comfortable, this world-famous pair of designs is sure to find a place in any office or bedroom.
