Charming Ceramic Planter with Painted decoration presenting an illustrated Landscape on each side.
This decorative object of the 19th century was made by Edouard Gilles (1868-1895), the potter known for the beauty of his creations.
This Ceramic Planter from Montigny-sur-Loing has a monogram signed EG and numbered 229.
Each side of this decorative object is illustrated with a Landscape. A City bordering a river under an autumnal sky appears in warm colors, then gives way to a scene composed of boats and houses on the waterfront.
This Planter rests on 4 feet and simulates handles in relief in the shape of rings.
Poetic and harmonious, this unique work will delight lovers of Romanesque objects.
