Authentic vintage Mid-Century Modern Brutalist mixed metal lion sculpture by listed American sculptor Bill Lett. Created at his Creative Metals Studio in Corryton, Tennessee, this striking piece exemplifies the bold, textural aesthetic of the 1960s/1970s Brutalist art movement.
The roaring lion is masterfully crafted from torch-cut, hand-welded bronze and mixed metals, displaying a highly expressive, tactile form. The mane and muscular contours are accentuated by an exceptional, naturally aged verdigris copper patina that adds tremendous depth, color variation, and visual texture.
The sculpture is securely mounted to its original, beautifully grained solid wood pedestal plinth. The underside of the base retains its rare, original yellow paper studio label, verifying its provenance: "Creative Metals, Bill Lett, Rt. 4, Corryton, Tenn. 37721."
A superb, collector-grade statement piece perfect for a modern office desk, library shelf, or curated Mid-Century room vignette.
