The elegant oval composition is distinguished by its richly detailed gilded framework, displaying an exceptional variety of classical decorative motifs, including floral garlands, scrolling acanthus leaves, finely modeled rosettes, shell ornamentation, and delicate beaded borders.
At the center, a large oval beveled mirror plate is surrounded by an extraordinary secondary border of decorative antique glass. The glass panels feature a delicate beaded or pearl-like pattern, creating a beautiful interplay of transparency, texture, and reflection.
The mirror is crowned by a beautifully modeled seated cherub or putto, positioned within an intricate arrangement of scrolling foliage, floral bouquets, and classical ornamental flourishes.
The cherub sits gracefully among the giltwood scrollwork, creating a striking sculptural focal point above the oval mirror.
The upper crest is further enriched by cascading floral garlands and richly carved botanical ornamentation, while symmetrical floral rosettes and acanthus scrolls decorate the sides.
At the base, an elaborate arrangement of shell motifs, scrolling leaves, and floral details completes the composition, balancing the ornate upper pediment.
