Dutch artist Nicolaas Maathuis works across painting, drawing, ceramics, furniture and applied art. Still Life Drawing II combines charcoal with a specially scratched paper surface to depict a bowl of fruit and other objects arranged on a table. The forms are reduced to lines and shapes, while darker charcoal marks contrast with exposed areas of paper. The combination of the drawing technique and treated surface gives the work a direct, graphic and handmade quality.
A passe-partout can be provided for an additional cost, and framing can be arranged in consultation with the artist. Signed by Maker,Numbered
