Its organic shape and reactive glaze make it an iconic decorative object of this design period.
Made of glazed ceramic, this bowl bears the "WEST GERMANY" mark and the model number "442" on its base, confirming its origin and authenticity. The color palette is particularly distinctive, with a complex glaze that combines shades of gray, black, and bright yellow on a cream background. The glazing technique creates an abstract, textured pattern, typical of the "Fat Lava" style that was popular at the time.
The piece is in good overall condition, consistent with its age. It displays a fine network of cracks across the glazed surface, a common phenomenon that adds character and bears witness to its history. The bowl's structure is solid, and it has retained the vibrancy of its original colors. This object will find its perfect place as a centerpiece on a coffee table, entryway console, or sideboard in a Mid-Century Modern, vintage, or eclectic interior. It can serve as a decorative fruit bowl or an elegant catchall. This piece has an attribution mark,
