This architectural storage cabinet consists of two separate units, with a cabinet placed on top of a base cabinet, creating a beautifully balanced composition. Both sections feature double doors with discreet circular metal handles, opening to reveal practical storage compartments with interior shelving. The cabinet showcases the refined craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of Wabbes' work. The richly grained dark wood veneer contrasts beautifully with the slender chromed metal base, while the carefully executed edges and subtle metal fittings underline the quality of its construction. Originally conceived as functional office furniture, the cabinet translates equally well into a contemporary residential interior, offering generous storage without compromising its clean, minimalist appearance. A fine example of Belgian mid-century design, combining functionality, architectural proportions and exceptional material quality.
