Iconic wing chair model 2204 with matching footstool model 2202, designed in 1963 by Børge Mogensen and manufactured by Fredericia Stolefabrik in Denmark. Mogensen is one of the defining designers of Danish Modernism; his clean, honest furniture combines traditional craftsmanship with timeless functionality.

with the 2204, Mogensen translated the classic English wing chair into a minimalist, Scandinavian design language: The high backrest and the distinctive curved wings offer a sense of security, while the slender, square-section solid oak legs lend the chair a light and airy feel. The armchair and footstool are fully upholstered in reddish-brown leather that has developed a beautiful, warm patina over the decades. The loose seat and back cushions are filled with down. Both pieces bear the original Fredericia manufacturer's label on the underside.

The original leather has been cleaned, re-dyed in places, and treated with a UV protectant. The original upholstery has been inspected by our upholsterer, and the down cushions have been replenished. The oak legs have been cleaned.

Condition: Very good vintage condition – wonderful original condition with no noticeable signs of wear. The original leather shows natural creases, slight discoloration, and subtle signs of age that emphasize the character of this classic. An iconic ensemble for sophisticated interiors.
