The shade rotates around a Bakelite sphere that houses the lamp socket.
Because the sphere is smooth, the shade must be tightened securely in place; otherwise, it may slide downwards.

Depth (= length of the base): 22 cm.
The lamp has been fitted with new wiring and a new plug, and it uses a standard large socket (E27).
