The sculpture portrays a distinguished classical male figure with an expressive, upward-turned gaze, finely carved facial features, carefully articulated curly hair, and a full, sculptural beard. A decorative laurel wreath with gilt-bronze-toned detailing crowns his head, symbolizing victory, honor, and imperial authority in ancient Rome.
The finely modeled face and neck, rendered in luminous white marble, provide a striking contrast to the elaborate torso, which is carved from richly patterned red and cream-colored marble.
The figure wears classical Roman attire, featuring an intricately sculpted garment with flowing folds, decorative relief patterns, and ornamental detailing. The natural variations in the multicolored marble emphasize the depth and movement of the drapery, creating an exceptionally rich visual effect.
The composition is further enhanced by the sculptural treatment of the shoulders and chest, where the reddish marble displays dramatic natural veining and warm tonal variations.
The bust rests upon a turned circular black marble socle, providing an elegant architectural foundation and complementing the contrasting colors of the sculpture.
