A charming pair of Swedish Gustavian style mirrored candle sconces, each with an oval giltwood frame carved with a beaded border and crowned by a tied-ribbon bow crest. The original mirror plates show a soft, timeworn silvering, and a single scrolled brass candle arm extends from the base of each.
Mirrored sconces like these were made to catch and multiply candlelight in Swedish interiors, and they bring that same warm glow today on either side of a mirror, bed, or doorway. Swedish, 20th century.
Each approx. 8.7" W x 14.6" H (22 x 37 cm), excluding candle arms.
