On the Design:

Departing from dense, edge-to-edge repeat motifs, this layout draws inspiration from the minimalist color-field studies and watercolor sketches of post-war Scandinavian artists, where negative space is treated as an active, expressive element. The layout engages the Swedish concept of rymd or space—a celebration of spaciousness, light, and breathing room within the domestic sphere. Rather than crowding the field, the design stages an intimate dialogue between broad expanses of unadorned fleece and weightless geometric accents, allowing the raw beauty of natural fiber to take center stage.

Across the plush oatmeal-cream field, rectangular color blocks in dusty rose, sage and mauve float like suspended architectural swatches. While several shapes hover as solid planes of color, others along the lower edge resolve into open rectangular archways, tethered by delicate pinstripes that evoke spontaneous charcoal sketches on textured paper. Knotted in fine hand-spun wool with a generous, deep pile, the loose fleece naturally feathers the edges of each shape, creating soft, painterly transitions rather than hard graphic divides.
