A striking statement of German Pop Art design: This wall lamp, model 04497, in vibrant orange, designed by Klaus Hempel for Kaiser Leuchten, captures the bold, optimistic spirit of the 1970s. The design captivates with its sculptural, relief-like form: from a square base rises the organically curved, circular dome, at the center of which the light source is placed. The brilliant orange finish reflects the light superbly, transforming the lamp into a captivating, sculptural wall object when switched on. Klaus Hempel drew direct inspiration for his design from Verner Panton's mirror design. However, he slightly modified the principle: he omitted the dome over the light source and released two sizes. This lamp is the smaller version with a side length of 31 cm, while the larger version measures 62 cm. We have professionally restored, thoroughly cleaned, and fully inspected this wall lamp. The photos show the lamp with its cable and plug. It can also be connected directly to a wall outlet. The housing is in very nice, well-maintained vintage condition with minimal, honest signs of age that emphasize the authentic character of this design classic. The original brand marking is also present on the back.
