This fantastic rectangular trough planter is constructed of fiber cement and displays vertical ribbed detailing on both the front and rear faces. Manufactured in the 1950s–60s, variations of this style are often attributed to Swiss architect Willy Guhl. Great lines and clean design, with two factory-drilled drainage holes. In good vintage condition with a beautifully weathered patina.
Willy Guhl (1915-2004; Swiss) is well-known for his range of provocative garden elements as his patio and outdoor furniture. He pioneered a rugged, organic style of modern furniture and decoR, stylish planters and shapely seating, that remains widely coveted.
