A dated 1971 souvenir pennant from Cave of the Winds in Colorado, and a special one: the year is not … Read more A dated 1971 souvenir pennant from Cave of the Winds in Colorado, and a special one: the year is not printed but built from individually cut and sewn felt numerals in navy on a gold arch, a piece of old pennant craftsmanship. The sage green felt body carries a printed vignette of the cave's famous Narrows, complete with its period sign: "Narrows, yes you can, a million others have." Cave of the Winds in white lettering, Colorado below, with gold binding at the hoist and its original gold hanging ties. Measures approximately 17.5 inches long by 7 inches wide at the hoist; about 20 inches long including ties. Colors remain strong and vivid; please note small holes and a tiny tear at the tip, consistent with age and use. Cave of the Winds, near Manitou Springs, has welcomed visitors since guided tours began in 1881, making this a genuine piece of Colorado travel history. See less
