An exclusive 1950s bedroom set in quintessential Midcentury Modern style, consisting of a single bed frame and a matching two-door nightstand with elegant, slender stiletto legs. The true centerpiece of this set is the refined pink glass nightstand top. This detail is highly collectible: in that decade, the production of the distinctive and sought-after pink glass was an exclusive of the renowned Fontana Arte manufacturer. The linear design, combined with the warmth of the wood and the rarity of the colored crystal, makes this set an ideal modern antique piece to enhance a bedroom with an authentic touch of Italian design history.
Signs of age: The pieces maintain excellent structural solidity, but feature a charming and pervasive period patina. Surface scratches and small abrasions of the original polish can be seen on the bed frames and along the edges of the headboard and footboard. The bedside table's exquisite pink glass top is intact and free of chips or cracks, but it does show light, fine surface micro-scratches due to contact with objects over the years. The bedside table legs and doors show slight signs of wear consistent with daily use.
