A pair of large hand-painted gold French tôle leaf wall sconces, circa 1970s, Hollywood Regency in spirit with an organic twist. Each hand-crafted leaf has its own character while still being part of a matched pair. Painted sheet metal, or tôle, has a long history in French decorative arts. These sconces carry that tradition into a beautiful organic form.
When lit, the leaves becomes a golden silhouette framed by a halo of warm light washing the wall around its edges. Their scale gives them sculptural presence on their own, lit or not.
