Its glossy domed body … Read more A vintage black Dedalino pencil holder designed by Emma Gismondi Schweinberger in 1966 and marked Idarco. Its glossy domed body turns seven circular openings into a compact, playful composition for the desk.


The rounded black form is punctuated by six openings arranged around a central seventh aperture. Viewed from above, this simple radial pattern gives the piece an almost mechanical precision; from the side, its smooth dome reads as a small sculptural object.

Pens and pencils slot individually into the circular openings, keeping them separated while preserving the clarity of the silhouette. The original Idarco box is included.

This vintage example belongs to the Spanish Idarco edition of the design. It is moulded with the inscriptions “Idarco”, “modello Dedalino” and “disegno Emma Gismondi Schweinberger”, and retains its original Idarco box.

An approximate date of c. 1970s is supported by the documented history of the design, the Idarco edition and the object’s construction and presentation.

Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The glossy moulded body is well preserved, with all seven openings intact. No cracks, chips, deformation or repairs have been identified.
