All the distinctive features are there: the back and armrests flow seamlessly into one another at the same height, the rolled armrests embrace the sofa like a clasp, and the deep button tufting in a diamond pattern extends across the entire inside. The black leather lends the traditional design a modern, almost graphic austerity. Three loose seat cushions ensure comfortable seating, and the dark, round wooden legs give the sofa a solid base. Whether in the library, the study, or as a statement piece in a modern living room: a Chesterfield combines British tradition with timeless elegance and only becomes more beautiful with age as the leather develops a beautiful patina. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
