Extraordinary sculptural wall sconce designed by Alberto Poli for Poliarte in the 1960s, showcasing the distinctive character of Italian Brutalist design.
The sconce feature an elaborate dark-finished wrought iron structure, characterized by slender vertical metal elements of varying lengths, with irregular ends that create a dynamic and architectural composition.
The structure is adorned with geometric elements of handcrafted Murano glass, featuring textured and irregular surfaces in beautiful shades of emerald green, amber, clear crystal, and antique pink.
The contrast between the strength of the wrought iron and the luminosity of the colored glass creates a fascinating interplay of light, reflections, and transparencies, giving these wall sconces a strong artistic and decorative presence.
True illuminated wall sculptures, these sconces represent a refined example of 1960s Italian craftsmanship and design, perfectly suited to mid-century, Brutalist, and sophisticated contemporary interiors.
