A charming and highly decorative set of four Art Deco bronze trays by Max Le Verrier, each depicting one of the four kings from a traditional playing-card deck: King of Spades, King of Hearts, King of Clubs and King of Diamonds. The stylised court figures are beautifully rendered in Le Verrier's distinctive geometric Art Deco manner, with textured backgrounds and the corresponding suit symbols to either side. The pieces have a warm golden-bronze finish and make an especially striking group when displayed together. Originally intended as small vide-poches or ashtrays, they are equally attractive today as decorative objects, jewellery trays or simply as a set of collectable Art Deco pieces. A particularly appealing set for collectors of Max Le Verrier, French Art Deco and unusual playing-card-related objects.

Very good condition, wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions: approximately 8.5 × 8.5 x 1.5 cm each This piece has an attribution mark,
