These compact architectural ceiling lights exemplify the clean geometry and considered material combinations associated with Scandinavian modernist design. Each lamp features a square metal frame finished in a subtle brown-grey tone, enclosing two concentric translucent white plastic diffusers. The contrast between the angular outer frame and the softly rounded inner layers gives the design a distinctive sculptural quality.

The layered diffusers soften the illumination, creating a gentle, atmospheric light while retaining the crisp geometric outline of the square frame. The cubic ceiling housing continues the architectural character of the design, resulting in a compact yet visually distinctive ceiling light.

Offered as a matching pair, these lamps are particularly well suited to a coordinated interior scheme, whether installed along a hallway, in a bedroom, or in another space where consistent lighting and repetition of form are desired. Their restrained palette and balanced proportions allow them to complement both period interiors and contemporary settings.

Both examples are in very good vintage condition.

About the Designers
Nils Andersen and Salli Besiakow are credited with the design of the Kvadrat lighting series for Lyfa. The design reflects the geometric vocabulary and interest in layered forms that characterised much Scandinavian lighting of the 1970s. The combination of a defined square frame and concentric diffusers gives the lamps a distinctive architectural presence while retaining a practical, understated character.

About the Manufacturer
Lyfa was an established Danish lighting manufacturer whose work contributed to Denmark’s influential tradition of modern lighting design. The company produced a broad range of domestic and architectural lighting, collaborating with designers to explore different forms, materials and approaches to illumination.

The Kvadrat series demonstrates Lyfa’s interest in combining functional construction with strong geometric design. Its layered diffusers, restrained colour scheme and compact architectural form make it an appealing example of 1970s Scandinavian lighting.

A distinctive matching pair for collectors of Danish modern design and interior designers seeking characterful vintage lighting with a strong architectural identity. This piece has an attribution mark,
